Howlite is a clay mineral with the chemical formula: Al2Si2O5H4.

It’s an element, it contains:

1. Al (Aluminum) 2 atoms

2. Si (Silicon) 2 atoms

3. O (Oxygen) 5 atoms

4. H (Hydrogen) 4 atoms

 

The chemical compound of haolite remains the same regardless of the color of the mineral.

The variations in color may be due to other elements such as iron and manganese, which create a variety of colors.

Howlite primarily forms in tropical and subtropical climates, where conditions are favorable for the erosion and decomposition of rocks.
