Aquamarine is a variety of minerals, including beryl, with the chemical formula Be3Al2Si6O18.

Aquamarine has a light blue or light blue-green color, primarily due to the presence of iron.

The melting point of aquamarine ranges from approximately 1700 °C to 1800 °C.

It is mined in several countries, including Brazil, Mongolia, the US, and India.

Although aquamarine is relatively more common compared to other varieties of beryl (e.g., compared to emeralds), larger and uncut stones can be rare and valuable.

The name “aquamarine” comes from Latin and means “clear sea”, because of the light blue-green stone’s color.
